The Sacred Forest Meadow is a secluded part of the Lost Woods, and extensively, Kokiri Forest. Link's best friend; the Kokiri and Forest Sage Saria, loved to hide out and just be alone here. The grove is just in front of the Forest Temple; the first dungeon Adult Link had to conquer after pulling out the Master Sword in the Temple of Time. This is also the location that Young Link received Saria’s Ocarina, and learned to play Saria’s Song; a tune that would allow Link to communicate telepathically with Saria. Saria would point Link in the right direction, with hints and the like.
Sacred Forest Meadow also appeared in the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, however it was known as Sacred Grove in that game. It is unknown whether or not it is the same as Sacred Forest Meadow from Ocarina of Time.
Stage Layout[]
The Sacred Forest Meadow is a walk-off stage. The players are unable to falling KO each other, and must go for an off-screen KO or a Star KO. The only platform is a slightly raised stone pedestal where Link would be transported to if he played the Minuet of Forest. In the background, the players can see the entrance to the Forest Temple, as well as the tree that Link had to hookshot up to in order to reach the Forest Temple. Many fireflies float throughout the stage, further promoting the atmosphere. In the background, we also see either Sheik or Saria playing the harp or ocarina, respectively, on the stump they played on in the original game. Sheik will not appear if Zelda/Sheik are in battle, and Saria has a higher chance of appearing if Young Link is in the battle.
Stage Hazards[]
Wolfos: Very rarely, a pair of Wolfos will drop down from the sky onto the pedestal, and begin to prowl around the stage, and pounce upon the players. The Wolfos deal medium damage, and low knockback.
Deku Scrubs: Occasionally, Deku Scrubs will pop out of the ground and fire light-damaging rocks at the fighters. The rocks they spit out do next to no damage. If a player is on top of a Deku Scrub when it pops up, they are dealt slight damage, and knocked skyward.
