Auron

Character Info[]

Auron is a playable character in Final Fantasy X. He was a warrior monk of Yevon who became High Summoner Braska's Guardian, together with Jecht. After helping Braska defeat Sin, he promised Jecht to take care of Tidus, his son, and watch over him. His sword, though called a katana, actually appears to more closely resemble a nodachi or even the fictional Zanbatou. On his right hip, he carries a jug with the word "Nog" written on it (in Spiran script), a term used to describe a number of beverages including rum. The drink is featured in two of his Overdrives: the contents being spat onto his sword prior to executing Banishing Blade, or used to ignite the Tornado attack. The former likely pays homage to Japanese samurai, who would occasionally spit sake on their blades in order to "feed the spirit of the blade."

General Information[]

Taunts[]

Up Taunt: Auron swings his sword in front of himself and taunts, "That's how it's done!"

Down Taunt: Auron points his sword forwards and says, "As you wish..."

Side Taunt: Auron lets out a grunt before clenching his fists together.

Entrance[]

Aurons arrives on the stage as he taunts his opponents, "I forsee no difficulty."

Kirby Hat[]

Kirby gains Auron's glasses and dark hair.

Moveset[]

Standard Special[]

Silencestrike (6%-26%): Auron slashes forward with his sword, dealing damage to any opponents he slices and also silencing them, disabling the use of their Special Attacks for a certain amount of time. Auron can charge this attack up, increasing its strength, knockback, and the length of the silence effect up to 6 seconds.

Side Special[]

Threaten (1%-4%): Auron strikes fear into his opponent, immobilizing them briefly. This attack doesn't cause much damage, but leaves the opponent open for a follow up attack. The opponent must be facing Auron for this technique to work successfully, similar to Mewtwo's Disable ability in Super Smash Bros. Melee.

Up Special[]

Tornado (3%-10%): Auron surrounds himself within a firey tornado as he rapidly spins, swinging his blade around horizontally. Any nearby opponents will be sucked into the tornado and instantly pummelled repeatedly by Auron's blade. Auron will travel a fairly short distance before slowing down and entering a state of freefall.

Down Special[]

Kotetsu (?%): Auron holds his sword in front of himself on a diagonal slant as he guards himself against attacks. If anyone attacks Auron while he's defending himself, he'll counter attack them instantly, dealing double the damage the opponent would have caused to Auron.

Final Smash[]

Dragon Fang (45%-65%): Auron leaps into the air before slamming back down, planting his sword into the ground and sending light across the stage as it heavily damages all opponents within a moderate radius. If Auron uses this attack over a bottomless pit, he'll fall and earn a S.D.
